Job summary

Virginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital in Tacoma, WA seeks a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) to join our rehabilitation team on a full-time 12-hour days schedule. You will provide basic patient care, assist with activities of daily living, and support nursing staff in a fast-paced hospital setting.

Qualified candidates hold a CNA certificate, CPR/BCLS, and a high school diploma or equivalent, with preferred six months of acute or long-term care experience.

Qualifications

• Completion of a licensed nursing assistant program.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Deliver basic patient care under supervision of nursing staff.
• Support patients' comfort and assist with activities of daily living and clinical procedures.
• Perform essential nursing tasks such as bathing, grooming, mobility, and feeding assistance.
• Take and record vital signs and document accurately.

How you'll contribute

The rehabilitation Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) atVirginia Mason Franciscan Health Rehabilitation Hospital is responsible for delivering basic patient care under the supervision of nursing staff, supporting patients' comfort and assisting with daily living activities and clinical procedures.

Essential Functions

• Perform basic patient care tasks including bathing, grooming, and mobility assistance.
• Provide general nursing support such as positioning, lifting, turning, and using special equipment.
• Assist with toileting needs using bedpans, urinals, commodes, or ambulation to the bathroom.
• Take and record temperature, pulse, respiration, weight, height, blood pressure, and intake/output measurements accurately and document in a timely manner.
• Prepare patient rooms for admission and transfer, ensuring cleanliness and equipment readiness.
• Maintain a clean, comfortable, and safe environment with attention to ventilation and lighting.
• Support patient admission, transfer, and discharge procedures, including handling of patient belongings.
• Answer patient call lights, phones, and pages, responding promptly and appropriately.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.

Schedule:

Days - 12 hour shifts

Qualifications and requirements

Applicants should have a High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience. Completion of a licensed nursing assistant program. Additional requirements include:

• Minimum six months of experience in an acute care or long-term care setting preferred.
• Current state certification as a Nursing Assistant.
• CPR/BCLS certification required.
