Job summary

Care Initiatives is seeking a Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) to join our compassionate care team across more than 40 skilled nursing communities in Iowa. Full-time 2nd shift with every other weekend offers meaningful work helping residents with daily living activities and health monitoring.

As a CNA, you will provide companionship, assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, and feeding, and collaborate with the healthcare team to maintain a safe, respectful environment.

Qualifications

• Active Iowa CNA certification is required or ability to activate.
• Strong commitment to resident care, professionalism and teamwork.
• Compassionate, patient and respectful demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Support daily living activities such as bathing, dressing, grooming and eating.
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents.
• Communicate with residents, families and the healthcare team.
• Conduct routine vital checks and health monitoring.
• Encourage recreational and therapeutic activities to support daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocols to maintain safety.

What You’ll Do & Key Responsibilities:

• Support daily living activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, and eating.
• Deliver emotional support and provide companionship while fostering a positive and engaging environment.
• Interact and communicate with residents, families, as well as the healthcare team.
• Provide health monitoring including conducting routine vital checks.
• Encourage and facilitate resident recreational and therapeutic activities to enhance health and daily routines.
• Adhere to infection control protocolsto ensure a clean and safe environment for safety.

Qualifications:

• Active Certified Nurse Aide (CNA) certification in the state of Iowa, or the ability to activate certification.
