Job summary

Beloit Health System is seeking a Nuclear Med Tech to join our Nuclear Medicine department in Beloit, WI. The role performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures using radiopharmaceuticals and emphasizes radiation protection and patient education.

Requirements include AMA-accredited Nuclear Medicine training, ARRT/NM or CNMT registration within a year, CPR within 90 days, and strong communication skills. Report to Clinical Manager of Medical Imaging.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of an AMA-accredited school of Nuclear Medicine.
  • ARRT registration in Nuclear Medicine within one year of graduation or CNMT Registration.
  • CPR Certification within 90 days of hire.
  • Self-motived and able to be flexible.
  • Ability to function independently and to problem solve.
  • Good written and oral communication and excellent patient interaction skills.
  • Maintains ethical conduct and keeps confidential personal and medical information about patients.
  • Reporting Relationship: Clinical Manager of Medical Imaging; advisement from Radiologist.

Responsibilities

  • Performs diagnostic and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures with radiopharmaceuticals.
  • Applies radiation protection principles and ensures quality imaging.
  • Produces high-quality images for physician interpretation.
  • Provides patient care and education related to radiographic procedures.
  • Maintains documentation, conducts quality checks, and ensures patient confidentiality.

Job description

Beloit Health System is looking to add a Nuclear Med Tech to our Team!

  • Sign-On Bonus: Yes
  • Shift: 1st
  • Schedule: Will work 8-hour shifts between 6:30 am - 6:30 pm
  • Hours per week:40
  • Benefits Status: Eligible
  • Department: Nuclear Medicine

Performs diagnostic and therapeutic procedures utilizing radiopharmaceuticals. Applies principles of radiation protection. Exercises professional judgement in performance of service. Produces quality images for interpretation by a physician. Provides patient care and education essential to radiographic procedures.

  • Performs in vivo and therapeutic nuclear medicine procedures
  • Prepares radiopharmaceuticals for administration by injection, ingestion, and inhalation methods under approved protocols by board-certified radiologist
  • Operates radiation protection equipment, calibration, and imaging equipment. Operates other equipment/devices as appropriate
  • Applies principles of radiation protection to minimize exposure to patient, self, and others
  • Evaluates recorded images for technical quality
  • Assumes responsibility for provision of physical and psychological needs of patients during examination and treatment
  • Ensures proper documentation of exam
  • Performs quality control checks as required
  • Maintains accurate patient records and files with confidentiality
  • Ensures radiopharmaceuticals are ordered for the next days' work
  • Detects, reports to supervision, and contacts repair person for equipment malfunctions
