Job summary

Woodland Care and Rehab is seeking a compassionate Certified Medication Technician (CMT) to administer medications and support resident care under the supervision of a licensed nurse. You will follow the five rights, document administration, and respond to residents with empathy in a safe, caring environment.

We offer competitive pay based on experience, PTO after 30 days, holidays with premium pay or leave, tuition reimbursement up to 5,000 dollars per year, and 401(k) with company match.

Qualifications

• Active CMT certification in Missouri.
• Active CNA certification in Missouri.
• Must possess both licenses in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Performs resident care responsibilities with emphasis on safety and comfort.
• Administers medications as ordered under supervision of a licensed nurse.
• Adheres to the five rights of medication administration.
• Records administration of medications and treatments accurately.
• Notifies licensed staff of resident pain or changes in condition.
• May take and record vital signs as required for certain medications.
• Responds to resident call lights and anticipates needs during rounds.
• Observes and reports any adverse reactions or side effects to a nurse.
• Supports safety and quality through proper medication handling and documentation.
• Administers PRN medications and participates in care activities as assigned.

• DAYS 6:30am - 7:00pm

• NIGHTS 6:30pm- 7:00am

Qualifications of Certified MedicationTechnician(CMT):

• Active CMT and CNA certifications in the state of Missouri. Must have both licenses!

Essential Functions ofCertified MedicationTechnician(CMT):

• Performs resident care responsibilities in a manner conducive to their safety and comfort

• Administers medications as ordered by a physician under the supervision of a licensed nurse

• Must demonstrate knowledge of the “five rights” of medication administration

• Administers and records all medication given to residents based on their specific chart

• Notifies appropriate licensed staff when a resident complains of pain.

• May take and record vital signs of residents as assigned or as may be required by certain medications

• Records the administration of medications and/or treatments appropriately

• Answers resident call lights, anticipates resident’s needs and makes rounds to assigned resident

• Observe for and report any reactions and/or side effects of medications to a licensed nurse on the appropriate shift

• Performs all aspects of resident care in an environment that optimizes resident safety and reduces the likelihood of medical/healthcare errors

• Support and maintain a culture of safety and quality

• Administers PRN medications

• Reports and when appropriate, records any changes observed in condition or behavior of residents and unusual incidents

• Performs other duties as assigned
