Job summary

State of Missouri, Fulton State Hospital, is seeking a Certified Medication Technician to administer medications and support forensic psychiatric patients in a secure setting. The role includes direct patient care, vital signs, and maintaining accurate medical records under a licensed nurse supervision.

Primary responsibilities include medication room upkeep, daily living assistance, and environmental/security checks.

Qualifications

• Active and up-to-date Certified Medication Technician status in good standing with the State of Missouri.
• Active insulin certification in good standing with the State of Missouri.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed medications to patients under the supervision of a licensed nurse and maintain related medical records.
• Maintain medication rooms with adequate supplies and medications.
• Provide direct care, treatment, and/or security for forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender patients in secure settings.
• Assist patients with activities of daily living (feeding, bathing, bed making, dressing, etc.).
• Assist in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned.
• Collect and maintain records of fluid intake and output.
• Report on the condition of patients.
• Conduct internal environment of care checks or perform security-related functions in a mental health setting.

What You’ll Do

• Responsible for administering prescribed medications to patients and maintains related medical records under the supervision of a licensed nurse
• Responsible for maintaining medication rooms with adequate supplies and medications
• Provide direct care, treatment, and/or security of forensic psychiatric and/or sex offender patients in minimum, intermediate, and high security areas
• Accountable for assisting patients with activities of daily living such as feeding, bathing, bed making, shaving, dressing, and other related tasks
• Assist in checking vital signs, height, and weight as assigned
• Collect and maintain records of fluid intake and output
• Report on the condition of patients
• Perform internal environment of care checks or perform some security-related functions in a mental health care setting

Required Qualifications

All you will need for success:

• Proof of active and up to date Certified Medication Technician status, in good standing with the State of Missouri
• Proof of active and up to date insulin certification, in good standing with the State of Missouri

Preferred Requirements

• Basic Life Support (BLS)/Healthcare Provider CPR
