Job summary

Clarendale at Bellevue Place is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for part-time shifts in Nashville, TN. Responsibilities include administering prescribed medications and documenting effects under supervision of a licensed nurse. Must have TN Medication Aide Certification and be available for emergencies.

Qualifications

• TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification required.
• Minimum one year experience as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred.
• Prior experience in assisted living or health care preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist residents with medication administration per Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
• Assist with personal care including bathing, dressing, grooming, and vital signs per policy.
• Make beds, turn down, and manage linens as scheduled.
• Assist with meals and feeding when needed.
• Maintain a calm atmosphere and keep areas neat and clean.
• Report unusual resident behavior or medication refusals to the Director of Health Services/LPN.

This role is responsible to administer medications as prescribed by the physician, documents the administration, the medication effectiveness, and any noted adverse reactions or side effects under the supervision of a licensed nurse. We have full time and part time shifts available. Must have a valid TN Medication Aide Certification license with the Department of Health.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

• Assist residents as assigned with a high quality of medication administration assistance per individual Care Plan/ISP as directed by physician orders.
• Assist with personal care, including but not limited to; bathing, dressing, grooming, shaving, incontinent care, foot care, vital signs, height and weight checks per policy (where applicable).
• Make beds as needed in A.M., turn down as needed in P.M., strip beds once each week or PRN (where applicable).
• Do all personal laundry on resident’s first scheduled shower day (where applicable).
• Do all linens per shift (where applicable).
• Assist residents with meal time, cut food, encourage to eat, feed when needed (where applicable).
• Utilize on an on-going basis each day all aspects of special programs offered in Heartfelt Connections Program (where applicable).
• Maintain calm atmosphere at all times.
• Keep kitchen, work station, laundry room, and bathroom and common areas neat and clean
• Follow through with all assignments on a timely basis in accordance to chain of command.
• Report to Director of Health Services and/or LPN-LVN-Care Partner all unusual behavior of resident (changing of status) or refusal of medications.

EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred
• One (1) year experience working as HHA/CNA/PCA/RA preferred
• One (1) year experience working in Assisted Living or Health Care preferred

LICENSE/CERTIFICATION OR OTHER SPECIAL REQUIREMENTS:

• TN Department of Health Medication Aide Certification
• Willingness to be available for any/all emergencies regarding the community
• Doctor’s statement verifying free from communicable disease
