Qualifications

• Holds a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
• Has experience and competence in medication administration procedures.

Responsibilities

• Administer Medications: Dispense prescribed PO, topical, and rectal meds per orders and policy.
• Monitor and report adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status.
• Document all medication administration in compliance with policies.
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse immediately.
