Qualifications

  • Must hold a current Texas Medication Aide certification.
  • Experience and competence in medication administration procedures.
  • Clear communication, patience, discipline and professionalism.
  • Strong attention to detail and accurate documentation.

Responsibilities

  • Administer medications (PO, topical, rectal) per orders and policy.
  • Monitor for adverse reactions and changes in resident status and report.
  • Document all medication administration accurately per policies.
  • Maintain a secure medication cart and a safe environment.
  • Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
  • Follow infection control procedures during administration.
  • Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.
