Job summary

Pruitthealth Corporation in Macon, Georgia is seeking a Certified Medication Aide for full-time shifts including 3P-11P or 11P-7A. The CMA assists residents with medications ordered by licensed providers and supports medication administration per care plans in accordance with state and federal laws.

Responsibilities include maintaining medication storage, ensuring six rights, documenting administration, communicating with pharmacies, providers and families, and following infection control

Qualifications

• Knowledge of assisted living policies and procedures for medication management.
• Awareness of state and federal rules on medication storage, disposal and infection control.
• Ability to read and follow medication orders and labels accurately.
• Capable of transposing orders to MAR and correcting as needed per physician orders.
• Follows the Six Rights of Medication Administration and documents accordingly.
• Reports and documents medication errors promptly for resident safety.
• Communicates professionally with pharmacy, healthcare providers and families.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of assisted living policies and procedures regarding all aspects of medication management.
• Remain current in rules governing scope of practice, storage & disposal, infection control.
• Read and follow medication orders and labels accurately.
• Transpose orders to MAR and correct as needed per physician orders.
• Follow the Six Rights of Medication Administration.
• Identify concerns with orders or resident reactions and take appropriate actions.
• Monitor storage, disposal, and infection control practices for medications.
• Document medication administration and resident refusals per policy.
• Obtain vitals and report any concerns; communicate with family and pharmacy as needed.
• Support direct care partners and participate in shift-change communications.
