Job summary

Cenikor Foundation is seeking a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) in Texas to join our detox center. You will dispense medications daily, assist with vitals and client care, and ensure precise documentation in medical files and the EHR.

You will aid admissions, maintain a clean, safe environment, monitor clients, and uphold Cenikor's core principles. Required CMA, CPR/First Aid, and a High School diploma or GED. Schedule is full-time, 7am–7pm, with every other Saturday.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

  • Dispense prescribed medications to clients daily.
  • Assist nursing staff with vitals and detox client care.
  • Ensure accurate documentation in clients' medical files and EHR.
  • Assist with admissions, orientation, bed and locker assignments, linens.
  • Perform housekeeping to maintain a safe, sanitary detox environment.
  • Assist with pre-admission screening as needed.
  • Answer phones and take messages as needed.
  • Monitor detox clients and accompany them on outside breaks.
  • Conduct daily inventory and disposal of expired medications.
  • Maintain confidentiality and follow supervisor guidance.
  • Uphold Cenikor culture and assist in achieving performance goals.

Schedule: Full Time Monday-Friday 7am-7pm and every other Saturday.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
  • Dispense prescribed medications as needed to clients daily.
  • Participate and assist nursing staff with taking vitals, care of detox clients, and clean up after clients as needed, ensuring proper biohazard protocols.
  • Ensure appropriate and timely documentation is completed and placed in clients' medical files/EHR as required.
  • Assist with client admissions, including orientation to rules and rights, bed and locker assignments, issuing linens, and inventory of personal items as needed.
  • Perform housekeeping duties such as assisting with changing bed linens, washing detox client's clothes and other duties necessary to maintain a safe and sanitary environment for detox clients.
  • Assist with pre-admission screening process as needed.
  • Answer phone and transfers call or takes messages as needed.
  • Assist in the monitoring of detox clients and accompany them on outside breaks.
  • Conduct daily inventory and assist facility staff with appropriate disposal of expired and/or discontinued medications.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality on all client and foundation matters and refer questionable issues to your supervisor.
  • Ensure completion of Big 5 performance management tool by the required deadlines and use of SMART goals to support annual performance compensation review.
  • Uphold the core principles of Cenikor's culture and create a positive working environment for all team members.
  • Establish positive relationships with physicians and maintain a network of health professionals to assist in providing client medical treatment.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned and consistent with the non-exempt functions as defined in this job description.

Education:
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Certified Medication Aide (CMA)
Experience:
  • Prefer a minimum of one (1) year of medical experience preferably in providing care for individuals with alcohol and substance abuse, mental health and chemical dependency treatment.
Licensure Required:
  • Current CMA Certificate
  • Current certification in CPR and First Aid required
