Job summary

Spanish Cove Retirement Village is hiring a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to deliver compassionate, patient-centered care in a long-term care setting. You will assist residents with hygiene, mobility, meals, and daily activities, while supporting prescribed medications and safety protocols.

The role requires weekend availability, physical stamina for lifting up to 100 lbs, and flexibility to work varying shifts, including nights.

Qualifications

• Must be able to work weekends & holidays.
• Frequent lifting & moving; able to lift/move/transfer 100 lbs.
• Compassionate and supportive demeanor.
• Willingness to work different shifts, including nights/weekends.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal hygiene assistance (showering, bathing, dressing, eating) for elderly or post-surgery patients.
• Help with prescribed medications and assist with ambulation.
• Assist with mobility to appointments and activities.
• Plan and prepare meals.
• Assist with physical therapy exercises.
• Assist with shopping or accompanying clients.
• Perform housekeeping duties.
• Report incidents and act quickly in emergencies.
• Assist with daily living activities, including meals and related tasks.

Job Title: Certified Medication Aide (CMA)

Department: Long-Term Care

Pay Rate: $18.00 Hourly

Shifts Available: 5:45am- 6:15pm (Rotating days during the week, with every other weekend)

Responsibilities:

• Provide personal hygiene assistance for elderly patients or those recovering from surgeries, injuries, or accidents by attending to their basic needs, such as showering, bathing, dressing, and eating
• Help clients take prescribed medication and assist clients with ambulation
• Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctors appointments, walks, etc.)
• Plan and prepare meals
• Assist with physical therapy exercises
• Complete clients shopping or accompanies them to do so successfully
• Perform housekeeping duties
• Report any unusual incidents and act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
• Offer activities that are essential for daily living by assisting patients with their meals, including serving and other tasks, if necessary

Qualifications:

• Must be able to work weekends & holidays.
• Enjoy working in a one-on-one setting, eager to improve and continuously learn new skills.
• Frequent lifting & moving. Must have the ability to lift, move, & transfer 100 lbs with the physical capability to perform all job-related duties
• Valid drivers license and reliable transportation every single day
• Validated ability to act in a compassionate and supportive manner
• Available to work different shifts, including nights and/or weekends
• Willingness to enforce health and safety standards
• Supportive and compassionate
• High School Diploma or equivalent/Experience as a Caregiver, CNA or HHA, or completion of a CNA Program
• Take pride in providing high-quality care
• Hoyer Lift Experience (specific to client)
