Job summary

Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center in Salem, OR seeks a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related records under supervision of a nurse.

The ideal candidate is energetic, clinically sound, and dedicated to quality resident care. Certification as a CNA and completion of 80 hours CMA training are required.

Qualifications

• Must be certified as a Nursing Assistant in the state of employment.
• Must complete 80 hours of state-approved CMA training.

Responsibilities

• Verifies resident identity and records drug name, dosage, and time of administration.
• Presents or administers medications and observes ingestion or application.
• Monitors residents' vital signs as required.
• Documents reasons medications are not administered.
• Receives, measures, and stocks medications for resident use.
• Records and restocks medication inventories.

Job Summary:

Windsor Health and Rehabilitation Center is looking for a Certified Medication Aide (CMA) to administer prescribed medications to residents and maintain related medical records under supervision of Nurse. The ideal candidate will be an energetic, clinically sound professional, with a passion for providing quality care to the residents we are entrusted to care for.

Essential Functions:

• Verifies identity of resident receiving medication and records name of drug, dosage, and time of administration on specified forms or records.
• Presents medication to resident and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified processes.
• Takes vital signs
• Documents reasons prescribed drugs are not administered.
• Receive supply of ordered medications and apportion, mix, or assemble drugs for administration to resident.
• Record and restock medication inventories.

Knowledge, Skills, and Requirements:

• Certification in the state of employment as a Certified Nursing Assistant for one year.
• Successful completion of 80 hours training approved by the State for Certified Medication Assistants.
