About the Role:

The Certified Medication Aide at Tanglewood Health & Rehabilitation plays a critical role in supporting the healthcare team by safely administering prescribed medications to residents in accordance with established protocols and regulatory guidelines. This position ensures that all medication-related tasks are performed accurately and timely, contributing to the overall health and well-being of residents. The Medication Assistant collaborates closely with nurses and other healthcare professionals to monitor residents for any adverse reactions or side effects and reports findings promptly. This role requires a compassionate and detail-oriented individual who can maintain meticulous records and uphold patient confidentiality at all times. Ultimately, the Medication Assistant helps enhance the quality of care provided within the facility by ensuring medication management is handled with the utmost professionalism and care.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of a state-approved Medication Aide training program.
  • Current certification or licensure as a Medication Assistant as required by the state of Kansas.
  • Basic knowledge of medication administration principles and safety protocols.
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a long-term care or rehabilitation facility.
  • Familiarity with electronic health record (EHR) systems.
  • Strong understanding of common medications used in geriatric care.
  • CPR and First Aid certification.
  • Excellent communication skills in both English and Spanish.

Responsibilities:
