Job summary

Rio at Mission Trails in San Antonio, TX is seeking a Certified Medication Aide to provide precise medication administration with compassion and professionalism. This role requires consistency, strong attention to detail, and a team-oriented attitude.

You will administer prescribed medications, monitor for adverse reactions, document accurately, maintain a safe environment, protect resident privacy, follow infection control procedures, and report errors to the Charge Nurse.

Qualifications

• Requires Texas Medication Aide certification and experience with medication administration procedures.
• Demonstrates accuracy, reliability and professional, team-oriented attitude.
• Strong attention to detail and clear communication with residents, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Administer prescribed PO, topical and rectal medications per orders and policy.
• Monitor for adverse reactions and changes in resident status and report findings.
• Document all medication administration accurately in accordance with policies.
• Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment.
• Protect resident privacy and confidentiality of information.
• Follow infection control procedures during medication administration.
• Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse.

Your Impact as a Certified Medication Aide

In this role, you will:

• Administer Medications: Dispense prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin), and rectal medications per physician’s orders and company policy

• Monitor and Report: Watch for and report any adverse medication reactions or changes in resident status

• Document Accurately: Record all medication administration in compliance with policies

• Ensure Safety: Maintain control of the medication cart and ensure a safe, hazard-free environment

• Protect Privacy: Safeguard the confidentiality of resident information

• Adhere to Infection Control: Follow all infection control procedures during medication administration

• Report Errors: Immediately report any medication errors to the Charge Nurse
