Job summary

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Certified Medication Aide to administer routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The role supports the nursing department and may assist with personal care, housekeeping, and meal services to promote resident wellbeing.

Candidates should have current certification as a Medication Aide or Qualified Medication Administration Person, familiarity with dementia care, and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living preferred.
  • CPR/First Aid certification required by state regulations.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills with ability to prioritize tasks.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and coordinate with nursing and other departments.
  • Basic computer skills to document care and communicate with staff.

Responsibilities

  • Administer routine medications to residents per state regulations and Primrose policy.
  • Assist residents with personal hygiene, dressing, and daily living activities.
  • Support nursing staff and other departments to promote resident well-being.
  • Document care, participate in in-service training, and maintain required certifications.
  • Be available to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.

Primrose Retirement Communities is hiring a Certified Medication Aide to be responsible for administering routine medications to residents in accordance with state regulations and Primrose policy. The Medication Aide provides care to residents which may include personal hygiene, dressing, housekeeping, laundry, social-recreational activities, meal services and other duties and services as assigned within the community. The Medication Aide collaborates and assists in supporting the entire nursing department, other departments, medical professionals, consultants, residents, and families in an efficient and economic manner to enable each resident to attain or maintain the highest practical physical, mental, and psychosocial well-being.

What we're looking for:
  • Experience in long-term care or assisted living environment is preferred.
  • Current certification as a Medication Aide or Assistant or Qualified Medication Administration Person per state regulations.
  • Maintain CPR/First Aid certification per state regulations.
  • Attends in-service training as assigned and maintains continuing education hours if required for certification of position.
  • Has strong organizational and time management skills and the ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of Alzheimer’s Disease, other dementias and related memory impairments is preferred.
  • Demonstrates abilities to work as a team.
  • Basic knowledge of computer software and programs.
  • Able to work weekends and holidays on a rotating basis.
