Job description

We’re seeking a Certified Medication Aide to join our growing team! Reliability, trustworthiness, and consistency with regard to attendance are extremely important. The ability to regularly and timely attend work, cooperate and politely work with others, and effectively multi-task in a stressful environment are also essential.

Responsibilities:

  • Administer resident’s prescribed PO, topical (unbroken skin), and rectal medication according to physician’s orders and policies.
  • Monitor adverse effects of medications and report immediately to Charge Nurse.
  • Record all medication administration accurately.
  • Report medication errors immediately.
  • Maintain security of medication cart and a hazard-free environment.
  • Ensure confidentiality and privacy of residents.
  • Follow infection control policies during medication administration.
  • Monitor resident medication administration.
  • Notify Charge Nurse of any changes or reactions in residents.

Requirements:

  • Current Medication Administration certification from the state.
  • Ability to record information and perform technical procedures.
  • Good communication skills, self-discipline, and patience.
  • Demonstrated competence in medication administration.
