Responsibilities:

1. Collect, prepare, store, and transport specimens using correct techniques, anticoagulants, and protocols while adhering to Service Excellence standards of Courtesy, Privacy, Respect, Dignity, and Responsiveness/Customer Waiting.
2. Organize and perform analysis of specimens, including quality control, and evaluate the validity of results obtained.
3. Follow all safety procedures and protocols.
4. Perform routine and pre-routine maintenance.
5. Train and document proficiency of assigned employees/students as directed.
6. Receive incoming phone calls, document requests for blood draws, and follow through on collection as per service standards, including telephone communication, personal ownership, and service recovery.
7. Assist in maintaining supplies.
8. Coordinate daily technical activities, ensuring tests are completed accurately and timely by reviewing worksheets, pending logs, and uncollected lists.
9. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Qualified to perform moderate and high complexity testing as defined by CLIA 88.
• Minimum of twelve months training in an accredited Medical Laboratory Science program or equivalent work experience.
• Must obtain certification within 6 months of hire.

Education:

• Certification by a recognized national certifying agency.
• Baccalaureate Degree in Medical Laboratory Science or a related biological, chemical, or physical science from an accredited school.
