Job summary

A healthcare firm in Concord, NC is seeking a Certified Medical Physicist with a minimum of 3 years of post-residency experience to deliver radiation to adult cancer patients. Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Deliver radiation to cancer patients.
• Shadow another medical physicist during orientation.
• Calibrate therapy machines and conduct QA as needed.

Job description

Shift

8 hour, Day Shift - 40 hours; 0800-1700

Orientation

5 days of orientation

1st day: Meet with manager, team lead (badge, login access, CBLs, etc.)

Remainder of the shift-shadow another medical physicist

2nd -5th day: continue with orientation

Orientation will be based on comfort level and experience

Business Operations

Monday through Friday, 0730-1730

Holiday requirements only scheduled when Clinic is opening – closed for major holidays

2 Linear Accelerators – Combined avg census 50-60 patients per day

Minimum Experience required: 3 years of post-residency experience completed

• Performs QA on equipment as required
• Performs delivery of non-standard, standard, and complicated treatment planning and techniques, which may include high dose radiation (HDR), low dose radiation (LDR), stereotactic radiosurgery (SRS) and stereotactic body radiation therapy (SBRT)

• Measures instruments against national standards, measures therapy beam data for treatment planning purposes
