Focus Interpreting is hiring a Medical Certified English - Spanish Interpreter to join our Utah team. The role requires delivering accurate in-person interpretation in medical settings, ensuring clear communication between clinicians and Spanish-speaking patients.

The position emphasizes HIPAA compliance, strong bilingual communication, and knowledge of medical terminology. Prior medical interpreting experience is preferred, with compensation paid per assignment or hour.

Qualifications

• Fluency in English and Spanish, with strong oral and written communication skills.
• Valid Medical Certification for Spanish interpretation required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and HIPAA-compliant practices.
• Experience in medical interpreting is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Facilitate in-person interpretation during medical appointments, ensuring patient understanding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Translate medical terminology accurately to support provider-patient communication.
• Maintain confidentiality and comply with HIPAA in handling patient information.
• Prepare for appointments by reviewing patient backgrounds and term usage.
• Continuously update medical terminology knowledge to improve service delivery.
