Job summary

Grape Hospital seeks a detail-oriented Certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare team. This role supports hospital and clinic coding, with a hybrid schedule combining remote work from home and on-site responsibilities.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of healthcare coding experience, CPT/HCPCS/ICD-10-CM knowledge, EHR proficiency, and strong attention to detail. HIPAA-compliant workspace and effective communication are essential.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of healthcare coding experience in a hospital, clinic, physician practice, or healthcare system.
  • Current coding certification from an accredited organization.
  • Strong knowledge of ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
  • Working knowledge of electronic health records (EHRs) and healthcare billing processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Review and analyze medical records to assign accurate ICD-10-CM, CPT, and HCPCS codes.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, payer, and organizational coding regulations.
  • Abstract relevant clinical information from patient records.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nursing staff, and other departments to clarify documentation and resolve coding questions.
  • Maintain coding quality and productivity standards.
  • Support billing, reimbursement, and denial management processes through accurate coding.
  • Participate in coding audits and educational opportunities to maintain professional competency.
  • Stay current on coding updates, payer requirements, and healthcare regulations.
  • Assist with compliance initiatives and revenue cycle management activities as assigned.

Certified Medical Coder - HIM We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Certified Medical Coder to join our healthcare team.
