Thomas Jefferson University is seeking a Medical Assistant to support physicians with patient examinations, vital signs, documentation, and diagnostic procedures in a clinical office setting.

You will escort patients, maintain supplies, and ensure HIPAA-compliant care while contributing to high-quality patient experiences in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• HS Diploma or equivalent required.
• Medical Assistant Certification must be obtained within 6 months of hire.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association must be obtained within 90 days of hire.
• Experience in physician office or other healthcare setting preferred.
• NJ only: Graduate of an accredited post-secondary medical assisting education program with minimum 330 hours of instruction, including injections.

Responsibilities

• Escorts patients to exam rooms and ensures proper identification.
• Performs and documents vital signs, clinical care quality measures and medical history information.
• Assists physicians with examinations and various diagnostic procedures; may perform EKG and venipuncture/injections.
