Riverside Health System in Newport News, Virginia is seeking a Medical Assistant to support providers in a busy medical office. The role includes specimen collection, lab prep, patient triage, and room readiness.

The ideal candidate will have CMA certification, CPR/BLS, a high school diploma or GED, and 1 year of clinical experience. Some weekend/irregular shifts and cross-site work are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Program graduate, Medical Assistant required.
• CMA certification required upon hire.
• CPR/BLS certification required upon hire.
• 1 year clinical experience preferred.
• Weekend shifts and irregular shifts may be required.

Responsabilités

• Collects and prepares specimens for laboratory analysis and performs lab tests as directed.
• Supports practitioner with quality care, triage, vital signs, examinations and procedures.
• Helps patients with appointments, referrals and information; maintains patient communication.
• Maintains clinical competency; assists with examinations, ensures rooms and equipment are clean.
