Job summary

Catawba Valley Medical Group is hiring a Medical Assistant to support a patient-centered practice in Hickory, NC. Under the supervision of a licensed physician or mid-level provider, you will perform clinical and administrative tasks to support high-quality outpatient care.

No prior experience is required as training will be provided; BCLS certification must be obtained within three months. EHR familiarity is preferred to streamline patient flow and documentation.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assisting or certification as Medical Assistant.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
• Experience not required; on-the-job training provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist physicians or mid-level providers with patient care in a fast-paced clinic.

Promotes a professional patient-centered practice image by efficiently performing a wide variety of clinical and/or administrative duties to medical office outpatients under the direct supervision of a licensed physician or licensed mid-level provider. Serves as an important role on the care team to assist the physician or mid-level provider with outcome based patient care. Utilizes a team based approach to all tasks.

Education & Credentials:

• Graduate of an accredited program for Medical Assisting and/or certification as a Medical Assistant or completion of a Paramedic degree or certification program.
• BCLS certification from the American Heart Association required within three months of employment date.
