Texas Health Physicians Group in Rockwall, TX is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for a fast-paced clinic. The role involves patient check-out, surgery scheduling, and post-operative calls, with a focus on care delivery and communication.

Requirements include CMA certification, high school diploma, and 90-day completion of THPG clinical training; ACLS/BCLS are variably required. Work hours are 8am-5pm, Monday–Friday, with travel to Kaufman as needed.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma (REQUIRED)
• Certified Medical Assistant certification (REQUIRED)
• 1 year CMA experience (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
• Completion of THPG Clinical Training within 90 days (REQUIRED)
• ACLS certification (PREFERRED)
• BCLS certification (REQUIRED)
• 6+ months of Surgical Scheduling/front office experience (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
• Knowledge of prior authorizations and referrals (PREFERRED)
• Knowledge of Insurance Benefits (PREFERRED)
• Bilingual English/Spanish (PREFERRED)

Work hours: Full-time; 40 hours weekly; Monday - Friday (8am-5pm)

Here’s What You Need

• High School Diploma (REQUIRED
• One year of experience as a CMA (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
• Valid Certification as a Medical Assistant (REQUIRED)
• Successful completion of THPG Clinical Training (CT) educational program with demonstrated competency in required skills - within 90 days of job entry (REQUIRED)
• ACLS - Advanced Cardiac Life Support upon hire (PREFERRED)
• BCLS - Basic Cardiac Life Support Exception Quarterly - 90 days upon hire (REQUIRED)
• At least 6 months of Surgical Scheduling experience, Front Office experience (STRONGLY PREFERRED)
• Knowledge of prior authorizations and referrals (PREFERRED)
• Strong knowledge of Insurance Benefits (PREFERRED)
• Bilingual - English/Spanish (PREFERRED)

What You Will Do

• Delivers care to patients utilizing the Certified Medical Assistant Process
• Conducts patient check out, surgery scheduling and post operative calls as primary function of position
• Communicates with patient regarding test results and plan of care by phone or mail as directed by physician
• Provides for patient safety and protection of patient privacy rights
• May work in the front office as needed
• May perform other duties as assigned by practice manager, more senior staff, or as requested by healthcare provider(s)
