Mercy Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for Bon Secours Surgical Specialists at Harbor View Medical Center in Suffolk, VA. The role supports the primary care physician, ensures accurate health records, and prepares treatment rooms for exams.

Responsibilities include greeting patients, reviewing charts, and measuring vital signs while handling clerical tasks and referrals. Must hold MA certification and BLS; opportunity to grow within a faith-based health system.

Qualifications

• High School Degree or GED.
• Active Medical Assisting certification from one of CMA/RMA/CCMA/NHA/NCMA/NCCT is required.
• ABR-OE acceptable if MA certification not obtained (not SC provision).
• BLS Basic Life Support required at hire for some Mercy Health locations; preferred at hire, required prior to independent patient care at BSMH.

Responsibilities

• Provides excellent customer service by greeting patients and the community.
• Prepares & reviews patient charts ensuring test results and records are up to date.
• Measures vital signs (pulse, respiration, BP, weight, height).
• Performs clerical duties such as checking inventory, stocking supplies, tracking referrals, and answering phones.
• Troubleshoots and resolves problems promptly.
• Other duties as assigned.
