Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System (NGHS) is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) to provide clinical and administrative support across clinics and hospitals in our system. Qualified candidates hold CMA certification, current BLS or the ability to obtain within 30 days, and a High School Diploma or GED.

Qualifications

• Licensure or certification as a Medical Assistant; BLS certification required or obtainable within 30 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED.
• Active CMA certification/registry preferred or required.

Responsibilities

• Taking patient histories and vital signs.
• Preparing patients for examination.
• Assisting physicians during exams and procedures.
• Collecting and processing laboratory specimens.
• Administering medications as directed by the physician.
• Performing basic laboratory tests.
• Instructing patients about medications and diets.
• Maintaining patient records and filing documents.
