Job summary

Novant Health First Charlotte Physicians Elizabeth clinic is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a collaborative, patient-centered team. You will support providers, collect histories, take vitals, and prep patients for exams in a fast-paced outpatient setting.

Candidates must have CMA/CCMA/RMA or equivalent certification or obtain within 6 months, with a high school diploma and prior medical office experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Certification options include CMA/AAMA, CCMA/NHA, RMA/AMT, NHCWA, NCCT, NAHP, or ARMA with commitment to obtain/maintain certification within 6 months.
• Experience: Prior work in a medical office preferred.
• Licensure/Certification: Current CMA/CCMA/RMA or ability to obtain within 6 months; valid State driver’s license (Palliative Care Only) required.

Responsibilities

• Partner with providers to deliver outstanding patient care and support efficient clinic operations.
• Prepare patients for examinations by obtaining vital signs and medical histories, and updating EMR.
• Perform clinical procedures within scope of practice (injections, immunizations, medication administration, EKGs, point-of-care testing, specimen collection).
• Coordinate patient flow to ensure timely visits and positive patient experiences.
• Assist with prescription refills, referrals, prior authorizations, and follow-up care.
