Job summary

MUSC seeks a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care within our Healthcare & Medical Services department. Responsibilities include rooming patients, obtaining vitals, assisting with exams and procedures, documenting in the EHR, and coordinating care across the team.

The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, compassionate, and collaborative, with training in phlebotomy, EHR documentation, and adherence to HIPAA policies.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) certification.
• BLS and CPR certifications required; vaccination and phlebotomy capabilities preferred.
• Proven ability to work within HIPAA privacy standards and clinical protocols.

Responsibilities

• Greet and prepare patients for examinations, document vitals and history in the EHR.
• Assist providers during examinations and minor procedures, ensuring patient comfort and safety.
• Perform phlebotomy, EKGs, specimen collection, and vaccine administration as per policy.
• Maintain clean, stocked exam rooms and ensure infection control standards.
