Job summary

OVP HEALTH CARE in Ohio is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide patient care and support the medical provider with routine duties in an outpatient setting.

The role includes assisting with patient visits, maintaining safety and a therapeutic environment, processing medications, and handling prior authorizations and referrals. EKG and PFT testing support is included, with additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Graduation from an accredited medical assisting program.
• Certification as a Medical Assistant in OH/WV/KY required or equivalent.
• Minimum 1 year of medical experience.
• CPR certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assesses patient needs and assists the medical provider during visits.
• Maintains safe environment by identifying and reporting hazards.
• Supports resource distribution to maintain a therapeutic environment.
• Maintains positive interpersonal relations with patients and staff.
• Supports medical practice through ongoing professional growth.
• Uses judgment to meet patient medical needs.
• Assists with calling in medications for family practice patients.
• Maintains prior authorizations and referrals for services.
• Assists with EKG and PFT testing in the office.
• Other duties as assigned.
