Job summary

Roadrunner Health Services seeks a qualified nurse aide to administer medications and perform routine phlebotomy in a correctional setting. You will document medication effects, monitor adverse reactions, and assist with basic patient care, vital signs, feeding, and daily living activities under nurse supervision.

Required certifications include Medical Aide and CNA with active CPR, TB documentation, and a minimum of a high school diploma; one year of related experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Medical Aide certification with approval for medication administration required.
• Certified Nursing Aide certification required.
• Must maintain current tuberculosis documentation and active CPR certification.
• One year experience in acute care, emergency, or correctional setting preferred.

Responsibilities

• Participate in patient treatment and management as directed by multidisciplinary team.
• Administers and accurately records the administration of medications for patients as prescribed by the physician in accordance with established policies and procedures.
• Observes, records, and reports symptoms and conditions of patients that could be related to medication interactions, adverse reactions, or medication side effects.
• Determines and records the effectiveness of medications in a timely and accurate manner as required by state and federal regulations.
• Stores medications in a safe and accurate manner and monitors medications to ensure adequate accountability.
• Provide direct patient care including gathering vital signs and monitoring intake/output.
• Perform feeding, hygiene care, and activities of daily living support.
• Perform phlebotomy on patient population.
• Coordinate care closely with custody staff while maintaining a positive, collaborative relationship.
• Maintain ethical confidentiality in a correctional environment.
