Job summary

Hospital Sisters Health System is hiring a Medical Assistant to support patient care across Illinois and Wisconsin. You’ll perform direct patient care, administrative tasks, and basic lab functions under physician and mid-level supervision.

Required: completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program; MA certification/registration within 90 days; Basic Life Support (BLS) within 60 days. One year of MA experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant program is required.
• 1 or more years of Medical Assistant experience may be considered in lieu of completion of program per department discretion.
• One year of clinical experience - Preferred.
• Medical Assistant Certification/Registration required or must be obtained within 90 days from start date from one of the recognized credentialing organizations.
• Basic Life Support Certification (BLS) is required within 60 days of hire.

Responsibilities

• Direct patient care may include patients of all ages, in-person and over the phone, with assessment, planning, intervention and evaluation.
• Engage in reception tasks, greet and assist patients and visitors, and help with the administrative side of a visit.
• Perform a wide variety of activities including administrative and laboratory functions under supervision of the physician and/or mid-level provider.
• Support across multiple hospital/clinic sites as part of a larger healthcare system.
