Job summary

SSM Health Cardinal Glennon Children’s Hospital in St. Louis, MO, is seeking a Patient Care Assistant to support examinations under a nurse or provider.

The role includes taking vital signs, assisting with rooming, and basic clerical duties in a fast-paced ambulatory clinic. Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent (or 10 years of experience) and experience in patient care; strong communication and multitasking skills are valued.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED or 10 years of work experience.
• Experience obtaining vital signs and rooming patients.
• Prior patient care experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assists with treatments ordered by provider under supervision.
• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, prepares exam rooms.
• Performs basic clerical duties: phones, records, scheduling.
• Manages supplies and keeps environment clean and orderly.
• Documents encounters and transcripts orders as directed.
