Job summary

Northeast Georgia Health System is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide both clinical and administrative support across hospitals and clinics in the Gainesville area. The CMA will take histories, prepare patients for exams, assist physicians, collect specimens, and manage records and referrals.

Applicants must hold CMA certification/registry and a current BLS certification (or obtain within 30 days).

Qualifications

• Active CMA certification or registry required.
• Current BLS certification either present or must be obtained within 30 days of hire.
• High school diploma or GED required.

Responsibilities

• Take patient histories and vital signs.
• Prepare patients for examination and assist during exams.
• Collect and process laboratory specimens.
• Administer medications as directed by physician.
• Maintain patient records and scheduling; coordinate referrals.
