Job summary

CHRISTUS Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support patient care with accurate data entry for registration and insurance verification, and to communicate professionally with patients, families and staff. The CMA demonstrates good judgment and compassionate service in every interaction.

The role includes assisting physicians and nursing staff, scheduling appointments, answering calls, and updating patient accounts while maintaining compliance and a high standard of care.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification is required.
• BLS certification is required.
• 1 year of medical office experience preferred.
• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Meets expectations of the applicable OneCHRISTUS Competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Assisting the physicians, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants in giving superior medical care.
• Accurate Data Entry of charges on patient accounts, registering patients, and updating patient accounts.
• Insurance Verification and recording of Statistics.
• Assist with scheduling patient appointments, answering phones, keeping providers informed of changes, and informing patients of their benefits.
• Other duties as assigned.
