Job summary

Weiss Pediatric Care, LLC in Sarasota, FL is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN who loves working with children and families. You will document histories, administer vaccines, record vitals, perform hearing/vision tests, and educate parents on immunizations and common pediatric illnesses.

EHR proficiency required. Responsibilities include updating immunization records, coordinating referrals, and assisting with school/sports forms as needed.

Qualifications

• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or LPN required.
• Experience in a pediatric setting is preferred.
• Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) required.

Responsibilities

• Obtain detailed patient history and document in the EMR.
• Accurately draw up and administer vaccines for infants to young adults.
• Record vitals and perform hearing and vision tests.
• Educate parents on immunizations, asthma, feeding and common pediatric illnesses.
• Update immunization records and manage referrals as needed.
• Schedule specialists and order tests per provider instruction.
• Administer fluoride and breathing treatments as prescribed.

Qualifications: The ideal candidate will have experience with babies and children and have exceptional communication and interpersonal skills. Familiarity with administering immunizations is preferred.

• Experience in a Pediatric setting

Responsibilities and Duties:

• Obtain detailed patient history and document in the electronic medical record
• Accurately draw up and administer vaccines for infants - young adults
• Obtain and record vitals on each patient
• Perform hearing and vision tests
• Educate parents on a variety of topics including immunizations, asthma, feeding, and symptom management for common pediatric illnesses
• Review patient records for immunizations and well visit status, and specific health issues
• Update patient immunization records in Florida Shots
• Schedule specialists’ appointments and complete referrals
• Order tests as instructed by providers
• Follow-up on referrals, tests, and labs to ensure compliance.
• Administer fluoride treatments
• Provide nebulizer and other breathing treatments
• Complete school and sports forms

Job Type: Full-time/40 hours per week
Starting Salary: $22+ per hour
