Job summary

Mission Hospital McDowell, part of Mission Health, is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join a fast-paced ambulatory clinic team in Marion, NC. You will administer medications, perform wound care, and liaise between providers and patients while documenting care and patient progress.

The role emphasizes patient education on pharmaceuticals and supporting the practice's business goals within a compassionate care environment.

Qualifications

• Graduate/Certification from medical assistant programs with CMA/RMA/ARMA/NCCT/NCMA/CMAC/CCMA credentials as applicable.
• Current certification required; BLS certification due within 90 days of employment.
• Minimum two years of ambulatory clinic experience preferred; ability to work in a high-stress, physically demanding setting.

Job Summary And Qualifications

Job Summary: Work as a member of a strong team to provide care for the comfort and well being of patients. Administers medications, changes dressings and provides wound care as well as liaison between providers and patients. Documents care delivery, patient condition, reaction and progress. Provides patient education, especially in regard to pharmaceuticals and support the business goals of the practice.

What qualifications you will need:

• Required Education: Graduate/Certification from one of the following: AAMA - American Association of Medical Assistants – Certified Medical Assistant (CMA credential) AMT- American Medical Technologists- Registered Medical Assistant (RMA credential) ARMA- American Registry of Medical Assistants-(ARMA credential) NCCT- National Center for Competency Testing- National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA credential) AMCA- American Medical Certification Association- Clinical Medical Assistant Certification (CMAC credential) NHA- National Healthcareer Association- Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA credential)
• Preferred Education: None Required License: Must have and maintain a current certification. BLS Certification required within 90 days of employment.
• Preferred Experience: Minimum two (2) years experience working in an ambulatory clinic. Possess an ability to function in a high stress, physically demanding setting. Working Conditions: In contact with patients and families during working hours. Uses electrical biomedical machines and equipment. Exposure to chemicals and cleaning agents minimal. Exposure to biological hazards and patients with infectious diseases moderate. OSHA Category: Potential for exposure to blood or body fluids.
