Job summary

Community Health Systems seeks a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) for the Loop Clinic in Longview, TX. The role requires 0-1 years in a medical setting or externship, CMA or NCMA credential with BCLS certification, and strong knowledge of medical terminology and infection control.

Qualifications

• 0-1 years of experience in a medical practice setting or completion of externship program required.
• Knowledge of medical terminology and infection control practices.
• Proficiency with electronic medical records and basic software like Microsoft Office and Google Suite.
• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent patient service.
• Demonstrated time management and organizational abilities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

• Assists providers with clinical procedures such as taking vital signs, wound care, suture removal, injections, phlebotomy, vaccines, urine tests, EKGs, and splints.
• Prepares and cleans exam rooms for patient visits and procedures.
• Performs patient intake duties, including reporting test results and phone triage.
• Maintains daily logs and documentation and supports administrative duties (scheduling, referrals, insurance verification).
• Educates patients on medications, diets, and health topics; ensures understanding.
