Qualifications

  • Certification by AAMA, AMT, CCMA, NRCMA, or NCMA required.
  • BLS certification required.
  • One year of full-time Medical Assistant experience preferred.
  • Ability to document in electronic medical record and coordinate patient care.
  • Comfort with administrative tasks and patient interaction.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and take vitals (blood pressure, height, weight).
  • Collect medical history and medications list from patients.
  • Review current medications and allergies.
  • Assist providers during examinations and procedures.
  • Perform phlebotomy and collect specimens.
  • Administer medications as directed by a provider.
  • Conduct tests such as EKG and eye exams.
  • Prepare exam rooms and ensure supplies are stocked.
  • Explain post-visit care and provide patient education materials.
  • Assist with patient registration, check-in/out, scheduling, and referrals.
  • Answer clinic phones and triage as directed by a provider or nurse.
  • Assist in emergency situations as needed.
  • Precept new staff and train externs in clinic procedures.
