Job summary

Medical University of South Carolina is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to join the Outpatient Clinic at MUSC Clements Ferry Medical Pavilion. The CMA reports to the Outpatient Clinic Manager and provides multi-skilled support under a RN, assisting with exams, vital signs, patient education, and preparation of treatment rooms.

Responsibilities include maintaining patient records, equipment, scheduling, triage, and assisting physicians with exams and procedures.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintains and calibrates clinical/lab equipment per OSHA, DHEC and UMA.
• Maintains patient records and communicates plan of care to patient.
• Maintains exam room supplies and cleanliness of patient care environment.
• Maintains timely flow of patients; assists with scheduling appointments and referrals.
• Screens and triages patients; documents patient information and responses to treatments.
• Assists with exams, procedures and tests and administers prescribed treatments.

Education

High school diploma or equivalent.
