Job summary

MUSC Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Beaufort/Bluffton Offices in delivering patient-centered care under physician supervision.

You will assist in examinations, document vital signs, prepare treatment rooms, and maintain accurate EMR records to support high-quality care. The role emphasizes teamwork, compassion, and clinical efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.
• One year of patient care experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist in examinations and treatments under physician supervision.
• Interview patients and document medical history and vital signs.
• Prepare treatment rooms and assist providers during exams.
• Maintain accurate patient documentation in the EMR.
• Deliver patient-centered care with privacy and professionalism.

• Welcoming and interviewing patients while gathering medical history.


• Measuring and documenting vital signs, including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, height, and weight.


• Preparing treatment rooms and assisting providers during patient examinations.


• Maintaining accurate patient documentation within the electronic medical record.


• Delivering compassionate, patient-centered care while ensuring comfort, privacy, and professionalism.


• Communicating effectively with patients, providers, and fellow team members.


• Maintaining annual competencies and supporting a safe, efficient clinical environment.


• Performing additional duties as assigned to support the success of the practice.

What We’re Looking For

Education & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.


• Completion of an accredited Medical Assisting program preferred.

Required Certifications

• One year of patient care experience preferred.

• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association or American Red Cross.
