AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant for a full-time day shift. The role involves interviewing patients, taking vital signs, and recording information in patients' charts under supervision.

You will assist with treatments, prepare exam rooms, and handle basic clerical duties while ensuring accurate documentation and patient education. Requires CPR/BLS and CMA/CMAC/ARMA/RMA/AMT/NCMA/CCMA/NRCMA certifications, with Florida licensing compliance.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Customer service experience in medical office preferred.
• CPR/BLS and multiple medical assisting certifications required.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
