Job summary

AdventHealth in Altamonte Springs, Florida is seeking a Medical Assistant to support patient care under supervision. You will take vital signs, prepare exam rooms, document care, and assist with procedures as needed.

The ideal candidate holds a High School Diploma or equivalent and CMA/CMAC/RMA type certifications; prior medical office experience is preferred. This is a full-time, day-shift position with competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• CMA and/or CMAC/CMAC-like certifications required.
• Background in medical office or clinical support preferred.
• Experience with patient intake, vitals, and documentation is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Interviews patients, measures vitals, and records data in charts.
• Assists with provider-ordered treatments under supervision.
• Prepares rooms, answers phones, maintains records and filing.
• Stocks supplies and keeps environment clean and orderly.
• Documents encounters, diagnoses, symptoms, and instructions.

Job Description:

• Interviews patients, measures vital signs, and records information on patients' charts.
• Assists with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Performs basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Orders and stocks supplies, ensuring a clean and orderly environment.
• Documents provider encounters with patients, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
• Transcribes patient orders for laboratory tests, radiology tests, and medications.
• Provides patient education and explanations of risks and benefits.
• Collaborates with healthcare professionals to perform procedures and treatments.
• Maintains accurate and thorough documentation of all patient interactions and medical procedures.
• Ensures compliance with clinical policies and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned.
