Job summary

Boys Town National Research Hospital is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant-ENT for a part-time role in Omaha, NE. You will provide basic nursing care under supervision and support patient care across ENT clinics, including Primary Pacific Street and additional locations as needed.

Requirements include a high school diploma, accredited CMA program, CMA certification (AAMA/AMT), Nebraska Medication Aid Registry eligibility, CPR/BLS, and basic computer/EMR proficiency.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate from accredited medical assistant program required.
  • CMA certification (AAMA or AMT) required.
  • Active Nebraska Medication Aid Registry within first 30 days or current.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required.
  • Proficiency with personal computer and electronic medical records.

Responsibilities

  • Provide direct patient care and family support in ENT clinic.
  • Assist with procedures and delivery of patient care.
  • Participate in quality improvement in the clinic environment.
  • Attend staff meetings, CE and in-services in relevant practice area.
  • Manage clinic supply inventory and ordering; coordinate maintenance needs.
  • Float to satellite clinics to fulfill staffing needs.

Business: Boys Town National Research Hospital $2,500 HIRING BONUS!

Job Summary: In a career as a Certified Medical Assistant-ENT, you join us in providing life-changing care to patients from across the region. In this role, you will provide basic nursing care under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse, mid-level provider or physician.

Schedule: Part Time, 30 hours a week, Day hours

Location: Primary Pacific Street Clinic, with occasional travel to other ENT clinic locations, including 72nd Street, Council Bluffs, and Downtown, as needed.

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES
  • Provides direct care to patients and families in area of practice.
  • Assists provider with procedures and delivery of patient care.
  • Participates in quality improvement projects in the clinic environment.
  • Attends required staff meetings, continuing education and mandatory in-services in relevant practice area.
  • Demonstrates initiative, accountability and efficient use of time and materials.
  • This includes knowledge, self-direction, accountability, and ability to function within institutional policies, philosophies, and procedures.
  • Promotes patient advocacy which assures patients' rights to privacy, safety, and confidentiality.
  • Demonstrates flexibility in adapting to changes in policies or procedures.
  • Manages all clinic supply inventory including placing clinic orders, stocking and managing supply rotation.
  • Communicates all clinic maintenance needs to supervisor and is involved in coordinating maintenance staff work being done in the clinic.
  • Promotes a positive team environment.
  • Willingly floats to satellite clinics to fulfill required staffing needs.
  • Provides patient care and education according to the patient population served.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Graduate from accredited medical assistant program required.
  • Current Medical Assistant Certification through the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or American Medical Technologists (AMT) required.
  • Currently active on the Nebraska Medication Aid Registry or within first 30 days of employment, Medication Aid Registry must maintain current thereafter required.
  • CPR (BLS) certification required.
  • Prior working knowledge of using a personal computer and electronic medical records required.
