Job summary

Yakima Valley Farm Workers Clinic, Inc. is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to support the Community Health Center of Clatskanie in Clatskanie, OR.

You will assist providers, maintain records, prepare exam rooms, and help with examinations to ensure safe, compassionate, and efficient patient care. The ideal candidate has a high school diploma or MA program (720 hours with externship), CMA certification or eligibility, CPR within 90 days, and proficiency with EMR (Epic) and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Minimum high school diploma or GED required.
• Graduation from MA program with 720 hours incl. 160 externship.
• Apprentice program approved by the state or 720 MA college hours.
• Equivalent military medical training acceptable.
• Currently CMA certified or eligible to take certification.
• One year CMA experience preferred.
• CPR certification required within 90 days of hire.
• Certifications must be kept current.
• Medical knowledge for medicine concepts.
• Strong interpersonal and multitasking abilities.
• Proficient with Outlook, Word, Excel, Epic, and EMR.

Responsibilities

• Maintain patient medical records and update history and vitals.
• Prepare for visits, review labs/referrals, and coordinate reports.
• Collaborate with Providers for schedule efficiency and care continuity.
• Prepare and maintain exam rooms and equipment sterilization.
• Explain procedures and provide patient education within scope.
• Respond to patient questions in person or by email; route if needed.
• Assist physician during examinations and minor procedures.
• Anticipate provider needs and manage requests.
• Collect/prepare laboratory specimens and document results in EMR.
• Administer medications as directed by a physician.
