Job summary

VCU Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant to provide direct, age-specific care under physician supervision in a clinic setting in Virginia. Requirements include current MA certification, BLS HCP or equivalent, and 1 year of MA experience if not a graduate; graduates from an MA program may have different requirements.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• Current Medical Assistant Certification required.
• AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
• 1 year MA experience if not MA program graduate; none if graduate.
• Experience using a PC and basic software (Microsoft, email).
• Strong organizational, problem solving and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct, age-specific patient care under physician supervision.
• Follow plan of care and medical orders in clinic settings.
• Assist with medications and related supplies per policy/procedure.
• Maintain accurate documentation and effective communication with team.
