Prisma Health Greenville Family Practice seeks a Medical Assistant to perform clinical, technical and clerical duties under physician supervision. Responsibilities include patient preparation, vitals, med administration and entering data in medical records.

Qualified candidates have CMA-related training, multiple certification options, and the ability to communicate with patients and care teams. Day shifts at Greenville Family Medicine provide hands-on patient care.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited medical assisting program (CAAHEP/ABHES or ED-recognized).
• Current CMA/RMA/CCMA/NCMA/NRCMA or related certification as listed in the job posting.

Responsabilités

• Perform clinical, technical, administrative and clerical duties under physician supervision.
• Receive lab values, report to physician, and document in medical record.
• Prepare patients for examination; record chief complaints, medications, vitals, allergies; pend orders for signature.
• Prepare exam and treatment rooms; maintain supplies and equipment.
• Assist physician with examinations, tests, procedures, and office-based surgery.
• Administer medications/immunizations as ordered after competency.
• Handle calls and provide patient education; document in medical record.
• Complete registration, scheduling, billing, pre-authorization and referrals; schedule tests and treatments.

Formation

Graduate of a medical assisting education program accredited by the CAAHEP, ABHES, or any accrediting agency recognized by the United States Department of Education.

Completion of a Career and Technical Education Health Sciences Program approved by the South Carolina Department of Education.

Military Training: Completion of a medical assisting program provided by a branch of the United States Military.

Registered Apprenticeship: Completion of a medical assisting United States Department of Labor-approved Registered Apprenticeship program.

Employer-Led Training: Completion of a training program delivered by a health care employer that aligns with a nationally accredited certification exam.

Completion of the Prisma Health Certification Institute (PHCI) Fast Track Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) program.

Education: In Tennessee-completion of an accredited medical assistant program preferred.
