Job summary

Axia Women’s Health is seeking a Certified Medical Assistant for the Paoli, PA location with coverage in King of Prussia, Edgmont and Wynnewood. The role is on-site with typical hours 9AM-5PM, plus one evening per week.

Responsibilities include patient intake, exam readiness, venipuncture and labs, and assisting physicians across OB/GYN services. The ideal candidate holds CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA certification, a high school diploma, CPR if performing surgeries, and experience with eClinicalWorks EMR.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED required.
  • Current national certification as CMA/RMA/NCMA/CCMA required.
  • CPR certification required if performing office-based surgeries.
  • OB/GYN experience preferred.
  • eClinicalWorks EMR experience preferred.

  • Prepare patients for examinations and complete clinical intake.
  • Maintain accurate patient records and document vital signs.

  • Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance and maintain a clean work area.

We are currently recruiting for a Certified Medical Assistant at McConnell & Associate's OBGYN in Paoli, PA with flexibility to other satellite offices as needed.

Office hours: Monday-Friday 9AM-5PM with flexibility for 1 evening shift/week in Wynnewood office

Location(s): Paoli, PA with additional coverage in King of Prussia, Edgmont and Wynnewood.

The Certified Medical Assistantplays a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care by assisting physicians, providers, and nurses. Per the guidance of Axia Women’s Health patient protocol and care center physicians, the Certified Medical Assistant professionally engages Axia Women’s Health patients by assisting with patient care, recording critical patient information, and providing information to patients so that they may fully utilize and benefit from our clinical services.

Essential Functions:

  • Greet and acknowledge patients in a professional and courteous manner.
  • Escort patients to exam rooms and ensure they are comfortable.
  • Prepare patients for examinations, complete comprehensive clinical intake.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed patient records.
  • Perform and document accurate blood pressure, height and weight, and patient temperature.
  • Demonstrate appropriate chaperone technique and documentation.
  • Assist with patient examinations and office-based procedures (Routine procedures performed during the regular course of the day including but not limited to colposcopy, IUD insertions, and endometrial biopsies).
  • Administer medications and injections as ordered by providers.
  • Collect and prepare laboratory specimens.
  • Perform CLIA waived tests per Axia and Care Center Protocols
  • Computerized physician order entry (CPOE) – Enter and send medication and test orders per provider instructions.
  • Clean, disinfect, and sterilize medical instruments and ensure exam rooms are clean and stocked.
  • Provide information regarding procedures, medications, and follow-up care.
  • Respond to patient inquiries both in person and over the phone.
  • Assist with scheduling appointments and follow-up visits.
  • Understand how to appropriately perform Nonstress Test (NST)
  • Ensure patient safety within clinical settings.
  • Work collaboratively with physicians, providers, nurses, and other staff to ensure efficient practice operations.
  • Upon successful completion of competency skills training, assist in office-based surgical procedures (Anything historically performed in an Operating Room and/or requiring moderate sedation or higher including but not limited to LEEP, operative hysteroscopy, ablations, and D&Cs with or without suction) by preparing the procedure room, ensuing the availability of necessary equipment, providing support to healthcare providers during the surgeries, and post-surgical processes including disinfection.
  • Safely and efficiently assist patients with mobility, including transferring them between examination rooms and treatment areas.
  • Ensure compliance with all Standard Operation Procedures (SOP’s) and policies (including HIPAA & OSHA).
  • Participate in team meetings and contribute to quality improvement initiatives.
  • Adhere to practice policies, procedures, and protocols.

Education & Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Current national certification as a Medical Assistant, such as CMA, RMA, NCMA, CCMA required.
  • CPR Certification required if performing Office Based Surgeries
  • OB/GYN or Women’s Health experience preferred.
  • eClinicalWorks (EMR) experience preferred.

Pay or shift range: $18 USD to $23 USD
