Job summary

Northwest Specialty Hospital in Idaho seeks a compassionate Certified Medical Assistant for our ENT Clinic. You will room patients, obtain vitals, perform injections and venipuncture, and assist with in-office procedures under supervision. Maintaining aseptic technique and safe specimen handling is essential.

Qualifications include CMA certification, BLS, and strong English communication. Previous experience is preferred.

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification.
  • Must hold CMA certification with active status (AAMA/NCCT/NHA).
  • Awareness of cleaning standards and aseptic technique.
  • Strong verbal and written English communications for patient care and documentation.
  • Willingness to participate in ongoing professional development.

Responsibilities

  • Room patients and record vital signs during visits.
  • Administer injections and perform venipuncture and urinalysis.
  • Set up and clean procedure rooms for in-office procedures.
  • Properly discard biohazard and sharps waste.
  • Assist with EKG testing and processing specimens.

Job description

Northwest Specialty Hospital is seeking a compassionate, patient-oriented Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at our ENT Clinic!

Under the supervision of the Practice Manager, you will room patients, record vital signs, administer injections, perform venipuncture, urinalysis, EKG testing, set up and clean up procedure rooms for in-office procedures, properly discard all biohazard and sharps waste, and stock supplies. Must demonstrate good principles and practices of aseptic technique, knowledge of standard precautions, EKGs, urinalysis, venipuncture, including proper order of draw and processing specimens, and basic pharmacology.

Qualifications And Preferred Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification
  • Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) with an active certification with the American Association of Medical Assistants (AAMA) or National Center for Competency Testing (NCCT) or National Healthcareer Association (NHA)
  • Aware of standards of cleaning and performs in accordance with them
  • Ability to relate and work effectively with others
  • Demonstrated skills in verbal and written English communications for safe and effective patient care and to meet documentation standards
  • Willingness to participate in goal-setting and educational activities for own professional advancement.
  • Is aware of standard and performs in accordance with them.
  • Previous experience is preferred
