The Certified Medical Assistant provides direct, age-specific care to a patient or group of patients based on medical orders and the plan of care under the direction of the physician.
Current Medical Assistant Certification through a recognized national professional association such as the American Association of Medical Assistants, the American Medical Technologists, The National Association of Healthcare Professions, the American Registry of Medical Assistants, or the National Healthcare Association.

AHA BLS HCP Certification or equivalent.
High School Diploma or equivalent.
Graduation from a Medical Assisting training program from an accredited program of study such as the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs (CAAHEP) or the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools (ABHES).
Functions under direction of a licensed independent practitioner, manager, and/or RN in providing patient care, emotional support, and problem solving; all in accordance with hospital, nursing, and unit policy/procedure. Requires prior approval or guidance from supervisor for time/schedule changes; legal issues; directed care which deviates from standard; and identifying educational resources to meet developmental needs. Job duties may include the handling, transportation, access to, and/or contact with medications and related supplies.

Certified Medical Assistants work all three shifts, weekends, and holidays. Individual shift rotation and schedules will be established with your specific Nurse Manager/Practice Manager. Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work, may be adjusted as necessary to meet clinic requirements and/or as needed.
