Job summary

UT Health Jacksonville is seeking a day shift, full-time Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) in Jacksonville, TX. You will perform administrative and clinical duties under the supervision of a physician, including rooming patients and taking vital signs.

Qualifications include CMA or RMA certification, EMR and Microsoft Office proficiency, and BLS within 14 days of hire. A high school diploma or GED and CMA program completion are required.

Responsibilities

• Room patients, take and record vital signs and medical histories, prepare for examination, draw blood, and administer medications as directed by physician.

Responsibilities

• Perform administrative and certain clinical duties under the direction of a physician.
• Administrative duties may include scheduling appointments, maintaining medical records, billing, and coding information for insurance purposes.
• Clinical duties may include rooming patients, taking and recording vital signs and medical histories, preparing patients for examination, drawing blood, and administering medications as directed by physician.

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

• High school diploma or GED equivalent.
• Graduate from an accredited medical assistant/medical technologist school/program.
• Current national certification as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA).
• Basic Electronic Medical Record (EMR) and Microsoft Office knowledge.
• BLS certification must be obtained within 14 days of hire or transfer into the role and prior to providing direct patient care.

Preferred Job Requirements:

• Associate’s degree.
• Prior experience in a clinic or hospital setting supporting patient care.
